The Busselton Senior Citizens Centre is centrally located in the Busselton town-site, just walking   distance from the Geographe Bay Tourism Association.  The Centre opened in 1980, and has since provided a hive of activity for seniors in the Busselton Shire. The Centre boasts a wide range of     activities and facilities for persons aged 55 years and over, and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.00pm, and most Saturdays for indoor bowls.

A membership application form is below, for you to download and complete, if you wish to join as a member and take advantage of the many activities and facilities available.  Membership is $30.00 per person from January to December, with a ‘one-off’ nomination fee of $10.00 for new members.

 

The following is a sample of activities and services that the Centre is proud to host.

 

· An in-house catering service for members, their guests and visitors, with home style cooked meals. Meal prices for members are $8.00 for a one course, $9.00 for a two course and $10.00 for a three course. Take-away meals are also available at $8.00.  Non-members meals are $2.00  extra. Morning and afternoon teas are also available.

 

· Activities that the Centre run cost $4.00 which includes a tea or coffee. The choice is varied, so I’m sure you will find something to take your fancy. Activities include tai chi, indoor bowls, table tennis, gentle gym, boot-scooting, craft, bingo, mah jong, scrabble, meditation, cribbage, old time dance, card games, a band, writing group and movie days. Our seniors computer group, “Busnet” provides a range of computer classes and access to the internet twice a week. Various social events occur throughout the year also.

 

· Other services include a hairdressing salon, subsidised podiatry, a library, discounts from local businesses, sale of preserves, sale of  discounted books from book-clubs and a photocopying and laminating service. The Centre is also available for hall hire for functions etc. 

 

· Social groups that meet at the Centre include the Busselton Pensioners Social Club Inc,        Busselton Probus and Vasse Probus, all who provide social activities in and outside of the   Centre.
